There were a lot of agitation, displeasures and concerns raised when Ghana Education Service opened portal for recruitment of colleges of Education gradutaes, messages from university graduates were buzzling on social media, one of these caught my attention which reads “Ghana is the only country which priotize college of Education teachers over university teachers”. One also said” enti eb3y3 yie ni”.
Recruitment for university graduates are done but not as often as colleagues from colleges of education, recruitment of university graduates is mostly geared or specifies a targeted group of subject or area of studies.
Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, the current Minister of Education has raised concern on recruitment of teachers into senior high school, his statement reads” I’m pleased to announce that a limited recruitment drive for high school teachers will commence next week.
This initiative is part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen the quality of education across the country.
