UCC Clarifies recent notice regarding unaccredited study centres by GTEC

PUBLIC NOTICE TO PROSPECTIVE AND CONTINUING STUDENTS OF THE COLLEGE OF DISTANCE EDUCATION (CODE) OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CAPE COAST.

Recently, Ghana Tertiary Education Commission brought out a tall list of University of Cape Coast study centres which has not been accredited, this notice has left many in a dilemma, as whether to continue their program of study since the future in unknown about this issue.

University of cape coast, has issued a release to address this issue.

The details of the release reads;

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) wishes to address concerns arising from a recent notice issued by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) regarding certain study centres. This communication seeks to clarify the situation for both prospective and continuing students and restore confidence in UCC’s operations.

Clarification on GTEC’s Notice:

1. Prospective Students (2024/2025 Academic Year):

The notice issued by GTEC pertains specifically to prospective students enrolling in the 2024/2025 academic year. It refers to the accreditation. status of certain premises, not the academic programmes themselves. Please be assured that the University is actively engaged in discussions with GTEC, and an agreement has been reached regarding the specific centres that will be used. Once GTEC finalizes the centres, the list of locations will be communicated to all prospective students.

We want to assure all prospective students that applications and admissions for the 2024/2025 academic year are not affected by this notice, and the application process is still open. UCC offers a blended approach to delivering its programmes, combining online learning with face-to-face interactions to provide flexible and convenient learning experiences. All prospective students will be assigned to appropriate and convenient centres agreed upon by UCC and GTEC. We encourage you to confidently submit your applications, and we welcome any referrals of prospective students to the University.

2. Continuing Students:

The notice does not affect continuing students. If you are currently enrolled in any of our programmes, your studies are not impacted by the premises accreditation mentioned in the notice. The academic integrity of our programmes remains intact, and all necessary steps have been taken to ensure the continuation of your education at UCC without disruption.
