The 2024 BECE provisional results for Junior High School students are set to be released says WAEC

The provisional results of final year Junior High School students who sat for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) will be released by mid-October 2024, the Head of Public Affairs at WAEC, John Kapi has said.
“Marking of the BECE scripts is ongoing and tentatively we are looking at the first weekend of October normally we give ourselves a grace period of 7 days so by the middle of October the 2024 BECE results should be out,” he stated.

In an interview with JoyNews, the spokesperson said the central government had released funds to enable them to pay all examiners, supervisors, and invigilators who were tasked to oversee the 2024 edition of the BECE.
A total of 569,095 candidates representing 282,648 males and 286,447 females from 19,506 private and public Junior High Schools participated in the BECE for School which commenced on Monday, July 8, and ended on Monday, July 15,
2024.
Regarding BECE for Private Candidates, about 1,366 candidates, comprising 735 males and 631 females participated in the examination. Fifteen (15) school candidates were examined based on the newly introduced Common Core Curriculum, while Private Candidates were examined on the old syllabus.

As part of arrangements for the smooth conduct of the examination, WAEC released guidelines, a scheme, and structure of the examination with sample questions and circulated to all heads of Junior High Schools. Centres, mainly in the regional capitals were used during the private examination.
The West African Examinations Council tasked 2,123 supervisors, 1,889 assistant supervisors, and
19,973 invigilators to ensure the smooth conduct of the Basic Education Certificate Examination for Schools held in 2,123 centers nationwide.
