REVISED CRITERIA FOR THE CORRECTION OF DATE OF BIRTH.

This has been problem since time immemorial, the plan of digitization across all sectors of government agencies may resolve it with time but not immediately.

Most people have varying problems with their date of birth, some of these problems emanated from public exercises, BECE and WASSCE registration, birth certificate registration, passport, driving license, Ghana card registration etc, but the worst part is the bearer of these documents will face future consequences of the reckless action of an officer.

Most peoples on payroll are not exemption from this problem of Date of Birth issues.

The Commission at its 1 Plenary Meeting held in May 2024, adopted a Revised Criteria for the Correction of date of birth for public officers.

2 In line with Government Policy, the Commission decided to accept the ECOWAS Card (Ghana Card) as an approved document for correction of date of birth.

Effective 1 July, 2024, any public servant seeking correction of his/her

date of birth must submit the ECOWAS Card along with any two (2) of the seven (7) documents below:

(a) Birth Certificate, issued within ten (10) years after birth:

(b) Personal Records Forms/Card completed on first entry into the

service: (c) SSNIT Record/Card:

(d) CAP 30 Record:

(e) Baptismal Certificate, issued af most ten (10) years after birth:

(f) Passport, issued within twenty-five (25) years after birth:

(g) Educational Records/Educational Certificates with date of birth.

4. Heads of organizations are enjoined to bring these guidelines to the notice of all members of staff for their guidance.
